Kitchen Assistant (Part-Time)

Starting Pay: $14/hr.

Role Summary

Supports daily kitchen operations by assisting with cleaning, dishwashing, ingredient preparation, and dough production. This role begins in a home kitchen environment and will transition into the AK Wildflour bakery location in Wasilla. Ideal for someone dependable, detail-oriented, and interested in learning professional baking and kitchen fundamentals. No prior experience required; training is provided..

Core Responsibilities

Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including dishwashing, sanitizing surfaces, and equipment cleaning.
Measure ingredients accurately according to recipes and production needs.
Assist with mixing, portioning, and scooping doughs and batters.
Support prep tasks such as weighing, labeling, and staging ingredients.
Follow all food safety, sanitation, and allergen control procedures.
Assist with opening and closing routines and complete assigned checklists.
Adapt to workflow changes as production scales and transitions into the bakery space.

Qualifications

No prior kitchen or baking experience required; training will be provided.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Able to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
Comfortable lifting up to 40 lb.
Reliable, punctual, and consistent in attendance.
Able to work independently while contributing to a small team environment.
Must be comfortable starting in a home-based kitchen and transitioning to a commercial bakery setting. Must be 18 years or older.

Schedule

Part-time position.
Hours vary based on production needs; some flexibility required.
Initial work will take place in a home kitchen, with a planned transition to the AK Wildflour bakery in Wasilla.

Market & Events Organizer (Part-Time)

Starting Pay: $16/hr.+ DOE

Role Summary

Supports the planning and execution of farmers markets, pop-ups, and special events by coordinating market applications, organizing event staffing, and overseeing basic on-site operations. This role helps ensure events are organized, schedules are followed, and staff are supported throughout each market. Ideal for someone detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable coordinating logistics in a live event environment.

Core Responsibilities

Research local and regional markets and events using approved sources. Track application deadlines, fees, and basic event requirements. Prepare and organize market applications and related materials for review. Maintain an up-to-date market and event calendar. Collect availability from event staff and create event schedules. Communicate schedules and event details clearly in advance. Act as the primary point of contact during markets and pop-ups. Coordinate setup, staffing flow, breaks, and breakdown at events. Ensure staff take scheduled breaks and lunches. Ensure accurate clock-in and clock-out procedures are followed. Escalate questions or issues to the owner as needed. Provide brief post-event notes related to staffing or operations.

Qualifications

Strong organizational and time-management skills. Clear, professional communication abilities. Comfortable coordinating and directing small teams. Calm and adaptable in busy public settings. Reliable, punctual, and consistent in follow-through. Able to stand for extended periods during events. Able to assist with light to moderate lifting during setup and breakdown. Weekend availability required; early mornings and occasional evenings may be needed.

Preferred experience includes events, markets, hospitality, catering, or retail environments, as well as familiarity with scheduling or timekeeping systems. Must be 18 years or older.

Event Support (Part-Time)

Role Summary

Supports pop-up market and event operations by handling equipment setup, sales assistance, and booth tear-down. Provides dependable labor and customer service to ensure smooth, professional events.

Core Responsibilities

Load, transport, and set up tents, tables, displays, and equipment.
Lift, carry, and move items safely throughout event setup and breakdown.
Greet customers, ring up purchases, and handle POS transactions accurately.
Maintain a clean, organized booth; restock products as needed.
Assist with guest service, answering questions and guiding selections.
Follow food safety, sanitation, and allergen standards at all times.
Support opening/closing routines and complete assigned checklists.

Qualifications

Event, retail, or hospitality experience preferred but not required.
POS proficiency and customer service skills a plus.
Able to lift 40–50 lb and stand 6–8 hours in various weather conditions.
Reliable transportation to and from event locations.
Team-oriented, punctual, and adaptable to changing schedules.
Must be 18 years or older.
